Today, I spent a few hours exploring Jebel Amman, the city's downtown area. I had just sat down at Hashim's Restaurant to enjoy a delicious and dirt-cheap hummus and falafel lunch. The restaurant was crowded, so the waiters sat another American woman at my table. She's here for the summer working as an agriculture and technology consultant, and she is living in an apartment building with lots of young people from around the world. We hit it off and made plans to get together later this week.
I start work tomorrow! So excited!
